On Tuesday, the Federal Board of Revenue recovered more than one lakh kg of tobacco from the premises of a politician in Mardan, which was not registered.
According to important sources, about 30 to 40 million in taxes were evaded.
Along with this, FBR seized about 10 lakh kg of tobacco from another person’s premises and no case has been registered opposed to them yet but FBR has started its investigation.
According to the Excise Act, the duty is imposed on the persons who pay the tax to register the area for storage of the product, but these persons had stored the tobacco only after it was properly registered. He was taken into custody, and he further said that he has not paid lakhs of rupees in tax, or we are not disclosing his name as no case has been registered opposed to him yet.
Earlier last year, the FBR had levied a tax of rupees 10 per kg on tobacco leaf, but now it has increased its price to Rupees three-ninety per kg. The FBR clarified that this is an advance federal excise worker which The amount of tobacco in cigarettes will be stopped.
There were also some people who were eating the tax of billions of rupees. The tax they imposed was three-ninety per kg. were being selling in the market in general, it was also revealed that this has caused a loss of about forty billion to the Pakistani treasury.
