IG KP: 75% of Suicide Attacks in Pakhtunkhwa involve Afghan Nationals

The IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan has said that 75% of the suicide bombers in the various districts of the province belonged to Afghanistan.

In an interview to Geo News, IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan said that the suicide bombers of Ali Masjid, Bara, Hangu, Bajaur and Police Lions were also Afghan nationals.

He said that 76 cases of extortion were reported this year, 49 cases related to extortion were traced, extortion calls were traced to big businessmen of Peshawar, both local and Afghan involved in extortion were arrested, Chitral, Mohmand. And extortionists were caught from Bajaur.

Akhtar Hayat said that extortionists were also caught from the local contractors of southern districts, due to the actions against extortionists, there has been a decrease in extortion calls, a year ago, regular data regarding extortion calls was not kept.

The IGKP said that two policemen involved in a group in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were treated like criminals, registered cases against the two policemen and handed over to the counter-terrorism department. By establishing offices, SP re-rank officers were appointed there.
