The rope of the chairlift broke near Pashto in Battagram, KP due to which 8 people including 6 school children got trapped in the chairlift which is at a height of 900 feet but a rescue operation has been launched to save them.
It was learned from important sources that the children boarded the chair lift to go to school at 7 am and headed towards the school but suddenly 2 of the 3 ropes of the lift broke and the lift got stuck at a height of 900 feet.
Gulfraz, who was trapped in the elevator, said that 6 children and 2 people were sitting on the elevator at 6 o’clock and around 7 o’clock one rope of the elevator broke, after which the other rope also broke.
He further said that there is a child between 10 and 13 years old in the lift and we have been asking for help since morning but no one has come yet.
Along with this, Gulfraz said that it has been more than 5 hours and we are still stuck in the lift while 1 boy is unconscious for 3 hours because this boy was sick and was going to the hospital. No, and the phone’s battery is about to die.
However, on the other hand DIG Tahir Ayub said that we have sent a chairlift expert but the height of the lift is 900 feet and it is very difficult to install the net.
Apart from this, the officials said that the rescue helicopter of the army is conducting the rescue of the lift, after which operations will be carried out carefully because it is a dangerous operation, if we go near the lift, the rope of the helicopter may break. Therefore, we have to look at all the situations.
Apart from this, school teacher Zafar Iqbal says that a child fainted due to fear in the elevator, who regained consciousness after a while. He further said that more than 150 children come to school from this elevator every day.
Apart from the helicopter, a local rescue team from Shangla has also arrived to rescue these people and the helicopter is currently inspecting near the lift.
Apart from this, DPO Battagram said that efforts are being made to rescue the people trapped in the lift.
On the other hand, it is being told that due to the pressure of the helicopter, there is a risk of breaking the third rope, so the operation will be done carefully.
Apart from this, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has ordered to close this chairlift immediately and said that rescue should be provided to these people as soon as possible.
However, the caretaker prime minister has also directed to ensure safety measures on the chairlifts in all the hilly areas.
