The government of Pakistan has decided to present the budget for the next fiscal year on June 9.

The Ministry of Finance said that a meeting of the Coordination Committee has been called on June 2 for the budget plan for 2023-24, while a meeting of the National Economic Council will be held on June 3 and this meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The budget targets will be finalized in the meeting, apart from these two meetings, provincial orders will also be included and national development works will be reviewed to present the budget.
The Ministry of Finance further says that in the next year’s budget, 70 billion rupees will be proposed for development works, while the Prime Minister believes that it should be increased to 1 thousand billion.
Along with this, he said that the size of the next fiscal year’s budget will be more than 14,600 billion, while committees have also been formed for the relief given to the people regarding this budget.
He added that economic growth is likely to exceed the BMO target of 3 percent, but this year’s GDP growth is estimated at 0.29 percent.
