The Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday clarified that it will conduct the Municipal elections in Islamabad during Ramadan.
It was found out from important sources that the Election Commission has met Attorney General Ausaf Ali to discuss the elections to be held in Islamabad.
It was also learned from the sources that the Secretary of the Election Commission and the Director of the Law Department were also present in the meeting held with the AGP.
In this meeting, they consulted with each other keeping in mind the order given by the Islamabad High Court.
Sources said that they have decided to hold the municipal elections in Ramadan because the elections held in 1997 were also held in the same month.
Along with this, the Election Commission has also made it clear that it will take advice from the Ministry of Interior in this regard.
