The Elon Musk has announced the introduction of 2 new subscription programs at X (Twitter’s new name).
The owner of the social media platform said in a post that 2 new premium programs will be added to X very soon.
He said that the monthly fee of a subscription program would be lower than the existing program. Currently, people worldwide are charged $8 per month under the X-Premium subscription plan.
According to Elon Musk, the low-cost subscription program will have all the exclusive features but will not reduce the number of ads.
In comparison, other new subscription programs will have higher fees but will not show any ads to the users who are part of it.
Note that the existing premium program promises to show 50% fewer ads.
Elon Musk has not revealed anything about the fees and launch date of the new programs. Earlier in early October, various reports suggested that 3 different subscription programs from X could be part of the social media platform.
The aim of these new programs is to increase the company’s revenue.
Similarly, in the past, X has imposed a one-dollar annual fee for new users in New Zealand and the Philippines to use basic features such as posting, liking and reposting.
According to the company, the aim of this program is to reduce the number of chatbots on the platform.
On the other hand, according to a report by a British news organization, X’s advertising revenue has been continuously decreasing since Elon Musk’s ownership.
So it’s not a surprising move to introduce new subscription programs to increase revenue.
