While helping Imran Khan politically, the former military establishment asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to take the case of foreign funding against PTI for a long time.
Considering all that was happening in Pakistan at that time, an important source said that there was no force on the Election Commission to take a decision against PTI, but Imran Khan says that The Election Commission was pressured in every way.
Imran Khan has said several times that the Election Commission was told that the judgment of the cases opposed to the party or him would be pronounced, but sources said that the establishment delayed the PTI’s foreign funding case.
Let us tell you that as soon as the establishment switch its attitude, the Election Commission also changed its attitude and gave its decision, but the decision of the Election Commission was based on merit. This case has been filed against PTI since 2014. Akbar S. Babar Bay, a member of the Supreme Court, presented many arguments regarding foreign funding from Pakistan or foreign countries, but at that time the case was delayed or could not be decided.
It has been found out from important sources that at that time there was a very close relationship between Imran Khan or the establishment due to which the establishment delayed the case. Keeping this in view, Babar submitted this application to the Election Commission on 14 November 2014.
On fourteen January 2015, the court asked Babar to present himself in court with evidence or the Election Commission asked PTI to submit its rules in this case on first December 2016, but the Election Commission did not agree the case early. The responsibility for the delay was given to the then Chief Election Commission who did not manage the PTI’s work properly.
When he was summoned to the court, he requested that the procedure be postponed or the Election Commission postponed the proceedings. Finally, on third April 2017, PTI’s lawyer arrived before the Election Commission. The commission dismissed PTI’s case or ordered the case to be heard again on May seventeen.
The Election Commission once again gave freedom to PTI to deliver its documents regarding the foreign funding case. Finally, after many months, on seventeen September 2017, PTI’s lawyers submitted their documents to the Election Commission.
On March 27, 2018, the Election Commission asked to examine the documents submitted by PTI, which was supposed to be done within a month. On the contrary, PTI’s lawyers requested that the case should be kept strictly confidential.
The Election Commission then ordered a daily hearing on twenty November 2019 while on twenty-one September 2020 the Election Commission raised objections that the report was not total as compared to the one submitted by the Scrutiny Committee in February 2021. The opposition party decided to make a long march to the Election Commission so that the case could be decided as soon as possible.
At that time, when the opposition was talking to the Election Commission, on the other hand, Imran Khan require the opposition to present the case by demanding an open trial.
Then in March 2021 the Scrutiny Committee was asked to provide the PTI report confidentially so that we could pass judgment on it.
After that, in 2021, the Election Commission issued its orders several times, which were not implemented. Accounts not disclosed.
The Election Commission ordered to provide all the items related to the foreign funding case, on which PTI’s advocate’s said on fourteen April 2022 that funding can be obtained from any foreign official through PPO.
He also said that PTI did not take funding from anyone and the Election Commission has started re-examination of this case. Why is this case not heard for 8 years?
Then the case continued to be heard, or many documents were submitted in the court. On first August 2022, the Election Commission said that it would be decided the next day, after which on August second, Chief Election Commission Sikandar Sultan. Decided the verdict or said that PTI had delivered foreign funding or asked that these accounts should also be made public.
