The Thursday’s World Cup opening saw Stand-in skipper TOM LATHAM of New Zealand win the TOSS or Choose to put the reigning champions England in to bat.
The event is a replay of the thrilling 2019 Final, which England won on a boundary countback after a tied game. It will take place in Ahmedabad, India, in the largest CRICKET Stadium in the World.
Despite being without their normal CAPTAIN Kane Williamson or fast bowler “Tim Southee” as they both recuperate from injuries, New Zealand is led by Tom Latham.
Lockie Ferguson, a fast bowler, is also out with a Niggle.
Looks like a decent surface. At the toss, Latham commented, “Hopefully LATER on it becomes easier to bat. The planning has been excellent.
Jos Buttler, the captain of England, said {Ben Stokes} is out with a “NIGGLE with his Hip.”
Stokes, who was chosen for the WORLD CUP as an expert batsman but cannot BOWL owing to a Chronic knee issue, is replaced by Harry Brook.
If Buttler had Won the Toss, they would have started bowling, he said.
“Looks like a great wicket. The planning has gone well, said Buttler.
Had a successful home series against New Zealand. I’m quite proud of what I accomplished four years ago.
