In Islamabad, which is the capital of Pakistan, the rate of HIV is increasing rapidly, the Federal Ministry of Health has also issued its statement. There are 520 cases of HIV and it is spreading rapidly among young men, homosexuals and transgender people.
Due to the increasing number of HIV cases in Islamabad, a new HIV treatment center is being built there to treat HIV-infected people.
In this regard, Dr. Naila Bashir of PIMS HIV Treatment Center said that currently more than 4,500 HIV cases are registered in PIMS. Since the start of the COVID, HIV has been emerging among gay men, who are being treated. At the same time, HIV is spreading rapidly among these men due to drugs.
According to the National AIDS Control, this year only in Islamabad, about 500 HIV cases are under consideration, which is also the reason that people are getting tested themselves.
Keeping this situation in mind, NAC says that it is taking some steps to prevent this disease.
