Punjab Governor Balikhur Rehman’s counsel said that the vote of confidence in Parvez Elahi which he has received should be made a part of the court record.
The proceedings against the application made by the Governor of Punjab to remove Parvez Elahi from the post of Chief Minister is ongoing in the Lahore High Court.
During this hearing, Justice Abid asked whether the governor of Punjab is satisfied with the vote of confidence, on which the lawyer of the governor of Punjab said that the vote obtained by the chief minister should be recorded in the court record.
After that, Justice Abid asked the Chief Minister’s lawyer, what do you want to say about this?
On this, the lawyer said that I would like to give my opinion because we have got the vote of confidence, but this issue is a matter of principle and the Governor of Punjab should have taken his steps in this regard.
The lawyer also said that the request made by the Governor of Punjab is illegal.
Justice Abid clarified that one problem has been fixed and the vote of confidence under Article 137 has also been obtained, only now there is a problem that whether the notification of the Governor of Punjab was there or not.
On this, Justice Asim said that if we call the request given by the Punjab Governor as illegal, then the issue will increase, on which Justice Abid said that if we look at it, we have to look at everything.
The Chief Minister’s lawyer said that the governor’s request to remove Pervez Elahi from the post is illegal, on which Justice Abid said that you are right, but the court should discuss among themselves and take a decision.
Along with this, the Lahore High Court said that the Governor of Punjab can also question the point of keeping the date.
